The Net Worth Calculator helps you calculate your total financial net worth by comprehensively tracking all assets (what you own) and liabilities (what you owe). Net worth is the single most important metric of financial health — a growing net worth over time indicates you are building wealth, while flat or declining net worth despite high income suggests lifestyle inflation or excessive debt.

Your assets include liquid assets (cash, savings accounts, FDs, liquid mutual funds), investments (stocks, equity/debt mutual funds, PPF, EPF, NPS, gold), and physical assets (property, vehicle). Your liabilities include all outstanding loans (home loan, car loan, personal loan, education loan) and short-term obligations (credit card outstanding, informal borrowings).

Calculating your net worth regularly — at least annually — helps you track financial progress. Most financial advisors recommend computing net worth at the start of each financial year and comparing to the previous year. A healthy benchmark is to aim for net worth equal to annual income by age 30, 3× annual income by 40, and 10× income by retirement at 60. Our calculator makes this tracking instant and automatic.

Tips for best results

  • 1Include current market value for all assets, not purchase price — especially for property and investments
  • 2Count only the outstanding principal for loans, not the total future EMI amount
  • 3Don't count primary residence as a productive asset unless you plan to sell and downsize
  • 4Recalculate net worth annually at the start of April each year
  • 5Your goal should be to grow net worth by at least 15% per year through savings + investment returns

Frequently asked questions

Is Konnect2Tools free?
Yes. These in-browser tools are completely free to use with no account required for core functionality.
Do my files leave my device?
Browser document operations run locally, except where the operation uses an external service, such as AI summarisation. Read the processing note before using sensitive inputs.
Is the Net Worth Calculator tool safe to use?
Local operations process document content on your device. External-service operations may send inputs as described in the processing note. Keep originals and inspect the output.
Should I include my house in net worth?
You can include it at current market value, but note that your primary residence is illiquid and not income-generating. Financial planners often separate 'investable net worth' (excluding primary home) from 'total net worth' for retirement planning. Your retirement number should be based on investable assets only.
How often should I calculate my net worth?
At minimum, once per year at the start of the financial year (April 1). For more diligent tracking, calculate quarterly. Track the year-over-year change — it should show consistent growth. If not, review your savings rate and spending habits.
What is a good net worth at different ages?
General benchmarks: By 30 — 1× annual income; By 35 — 2–3× annual income; By 40 — 5× annual income; By 50 — 10× annual income; By retirement (60) — 25–30× annual expenses (the '4% rule' corpus). These are targets, not minimums — start wherever you are and grow consistently.
Should outstanding home loan be counted as a liability?
Yes — include the outstanding principal balance as a liability. The home's market value goes in assets. Your net equity in the property = market value minus outstanding loan. As you pay down the loan, your net equity (and net worth) increases.
