How to pick the right PDF tool

Start from the job, not the file type. If a government or university portal rejected an upload, use Compress PDF and aim for the limit printed on that form (often 100 KB for certificates, 20–50 KB for photos). If you have many scans, merge first, then compress the single packet so page order stays intact.

Unlock or rotate before you compress — a password-protected or sideways scan will fail or look worse after a size pass. For marksheets and offer letters, prefer tools that keep text as text; flattening everything to images makes the next compression step destroy readability.

Each tool page includes a short guide and FAQ for that task. In-browser utilities never upload the file. Server jobs use HTTPS and delete the file after you download the result.
