Converting a PDF presentation back to PowerPoint is useful when you receive a shared PDF deck and need to adapt it — adding your branding, updating data, or inserting it as slides into an existing presentation. It is also useful for designers who receive PDF proofs of PowerPoint work and need to make edits.

This converter analyses each page of the PDF and recreates it as a PowerPoint slide. Text blocks, images, shapes, and background colours are reconstructed as individual PowerPoint objects that can be edited independently. The output is a .pptx file compatible with PowerPoint 2007 and later.

The fidelity of the conversion is highest for PDFs that were originally created from PowerPoint — in these cases, the layout, fonts, and visual elements map closely to PowerPoint's native objects. PDFs created from other sources (InDesign, Illustrator) may produce slides where text and images are flattened and need reconstruction.

How to use this utility

  1. Open this page and upload the file you want to process.
  2. Choose options if shown, then run the action. Processing is designed to finish within seconds for typical files.
  3. Download the result immediately. Server-side jobs use temporary storage with automatic expiry.

Common use cases

  • Editing a presentation received as a PDF to add your company logo and update dates.
  • Adapting a PDF training deck with slides for a modified internal workshop.
  • Inserting selected PDF slides into an existing PowerPoint file.
  • Extracting specific slides from a PDF conference proceedings as editable content.
  • Updating data charts in a PDF report slide by converting to PowerPoint first.

Tips for best results

  • 1For PDFs that were originally PowerPoint files, the conversion quality is best — text, shapes, and images are reconstructed accurately.
  • 2After conversion, check that text boxes are correctly positioned and haven't been merged into image layers.
  • 3If the slide backgrounds are complex gradients, they may be converted as images — click the background to check.
  • 4For presentations with custom fonts, install those fonts on your system before opening the converted PPTX to preserve typography.
  • 5After converting, use PowerPoint's 'Replace Fonts' feature to globally standardise any substituted fonts.

Frequently asked questions

Is Konnect2Tools free?
Yes. Public tools are free and do not require an account.
Do you keep my files?
Server inputs and outputs expire according to the job retention setting (two hours by default) and are removed by periodic cleanup. Download the result promptly; deletion is not immediate at download.
Is the PDF to PowerPoint tool safe to use?
Use HTTPS and only files you have the right to process. Server jobs temporarily store inputs and outputs until expiry and periodic cleanup. Keep an original copy.
Will the animations and transitions be preserved when converting PDF to PowerPoint?
No — animations and transitions are not stored in a PDF. The output PPTX will have static slides with no animations. You need to re-add animations manually in PowerPoint.
Can I edit the text in the converted PowerPoint?
Yes — for PDFs created from PowerPoint, text is typically recovered as editable text boxes. For scanned PDFs, text may appear as images and won't be directly editable without an OCR step.
How large can my PDF file be?
The tool accepts PDFs up to 100 MB. Very large presentation PDFs with high-resolution images may take a few minutes to process.
The slide layout looks different after conversion — how can I fix it?
PDF to PowerPoint conversion is never pixel-perfect due to layout model differences. Use PowerPoint's slide master and layout tools to restore your preferred structure after conversion.
