The Stock Portfolio Tracker helps Indian investors monitor their equity holdings in one place — tracking total invested value, current market value, profit & loss, and annualised XIRR returns across all stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds. Rather than checking each stock individually on your broker app, this tracker gives you a consolidated view of your portfolio's performance.
The tracker uses the XIRR method (Extended Internal Rate of Return) which accounts for the timing of each investment, making it the most accurate measure of portfolio returns. Unlike simple percentage returns that ignore when money was invested, XIRR reflects the actual time-weighted performance. A portfolio with XIRR above the Nifty 50 index (historically ~12%) is beating the benchmark.
All data stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server. You'll need to update current prices manually (or periodically) to keep the tracker accurate. This tool is especially useful for investors with holdings across multiple brokers or platforms who want a single view of their total net equity exposure.

Common use cases
- Tracking total portfolio P&L across stocks bought at different times

- Monitoring portfolio concentration risk across sectors
- Reviewing all holdings before a major financial decision like buying a house or car
Tips for best results
- 1Update current prices at least monthly — or before making add/sell decisions
- 2Compare your XIRR against Nifty 50 index XIRR for the same period to judge alpha
- 3Include all holdings: direct stocks, ETFs (NIFTYBEES, GOLDBEES), and listed REITs
- 4Use tax-loss harvesting before March 31: sell loss-making stocks to offset capital gains
- 5Keep at least 1 'core' holding for 10+ years — selling everything during dips destroys XIRR
Frequently asked questions
- Is Konnect2Tools free?
- Yes. These in-browser tools are completely free to use with no account required for core functionality.
- Do my files leave my device?
- Browser document operations run locally, except where the operation uses an external service, such as AI summarisation. Read the processing note before using sensitive inputs.
- Is the Stock Portfolio Tracker tool safe to use?
- Local operations process document content on your device. External-service operations may send inputs as described in the processing note. Keep originals and inspect the output.
- Why use XIRR instead of simple percentage returns?
- Simple returns (current value ÷ invested − 1) ignore timing. If you invested ₹1L in January and ₹2L in December, simple return weights both equally. XIRR accounts for when each rupee was invested, giving the true annual return per rupee over time — the same metric used by mutual funds for their rolling returns.
- What is a good XIRR for an equity portfolio?
- Indian large-cap equity has historically delivered 12–14% XIRR over 10+ year periods. Mid-cap: 15–18%. Small-cap: 18–22% but with higher volatility. If your portfolio XIRR is below 8% (FD rate), it's worth reviewing your stock selection. Negative XIRR over 3+ years suggests needing a strategy change.
- How do I handle dividends received in the tracker?
- Currently, add dividend amounts as a partial sale (negative cash flow on dividend receipt date) to accurately reflect XIRR. Alternatively, note dividends separately and add them to your realised gains. The tracker focuses on capital appreciation; dividend adjustments can be tracked separately in a spreadsheet.
- Does this tracker sync with my broker?
- No — this is a manual entry tool that runs entirely in your browser. For automatic sync, you'd need broker-specific APIs (Zerodha, Groww, Upstox offer data exports). Enter your holdings once and update prices periodically for a quick overview.
