Scanned documents, photos taken at an angle, and PDFs exported from mobile apps frequently come out with pages in the wrong orientation. Rotating PDF pages is a quick corrective step that ensures your document displays and prints correctly without re-scanning or re-exporting the original source.
This tool lets you rotate individual pages or all pages by 90°, 180°, or 270° clockwise. It handles both portrait and landscape pages within the same document, making it practical for mixed-format files like bound reports with fold-out charts or annual reports with wide data tables.
Beyond fixing scan errors, page rotation is useful for intentionally creating landscape layouts for wide tables or presentations within an otherwise portrait document — for instance, a financial statement that includes a broad spreadsheet as a rotated landscape page.
How to use this utility
- Use the controls below—paste text, pick files, or adjust options as described on the tool.
- Click the main action button. Processing runs in your browser on this device.
- Download or copy the output. Check the processing note for any external services used by this operation.
Common use cases
- Fixing upside-down or sideways scanned marksheets and certificates before submission.
- Correcting pages exported from a mobile scan app that saved them in the wrong orientation.
- Rotating a single landscape-formatted page (e.g., a wide data table) within a portrait document.
- Fixing a PDF created by printing a horizontally wide web page that came out sideways.
- Correcting a double-sided scan where alternate pages are inverted.
Tips for best results
- 1For a document where every other page is rotated (common in duplex scanning), use 'rotate even pages by 180°' if your tool supports per-parity rotation.
- 2Preview the first and last page after rotating to confirm orientation before downloading the full file.
- 3If only one or two pages need rotation, split them out, rotate, and re-merge to avoid processing the entire file unnecessarily.
- 4Check the rotation of any embedded signature or stamp — rotating a page does not change the position of digital signature annotations.
- 5After rotation, if the content appears cropped or cut off, the original PDF may have had non-rectangular media boxes that shifted during rotation — check the source file.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Konnect2Tools free?
- Yes. These in-browser tools are completely free to use with no account required for core functionality.
- Do my files leave my device?
- Browser document operations run locally, except where the operation uses an external service, such as AI summarisation. Read the processing note before using sensitive inputs.
- Is the Rotate PDF pages tool safe to use?
- Local operations process document content on your device. External-service operations may send inputs as described in the processing note. Keep originals and inspect the output.
- Can I rotate only specific pages rather than all pages?
- Yes — the tool lets you select individual page numbers or ranges and apply rotation only to those pages. The rest of the document remains unchanged.
- Does rotating a page affect the text selectability or search functionality?
- For vector-based PDFs, text remains selectable after rotation. For scanned PDFs, the pages are image-based, so rotation changes the image orientation but doesn't add text layer selectable text.
- Can I rotate pages in a password-protected PDF?
- Not directly — remove the owner password first using the Remove PDF Password tool, then rotate, and optionally re-protect with the Protect PDF tool.
- The document looks rotated on screen but prints in the wrong orientation — why?
- Some PDF viewers have a separate 'auto-rotate' setting that overrides the page orientation during printing. In your print dialog, ensure 'auto-rotate and centre' is turned off to use the rotation embedded in the PDF.
