Adding your signature to a PDF document is a routine requirement for agreements, approvals, consent forms, and acknowledgements. Digital signing via an online tool provides a convenient alternative to printing, signing by hand, scanning, and re-emailing — a process that used to take hours now takes seconds.
This tool lets you create a signature three ways: drawing it freehand on the canvas with a mouse or touchscreen, typing your name and selecting a signature-style font, or uploading a scan or photograph of your handwritten signature. The signature is then placed on the PDF page at your chosen location and size.
Note that a visual signature added by this tool is an image overlay, not a cryptographic digital signature. It carries the visual appearance of a signature but does not have the legal standing of a qualified electronic signature (QES) or a digitally signed PDF with a certificate authority. For legally binding e-signatures in regulated industries, use a dedicated e-signature platform such as DocuSign or Adobe Sign.

Common use cases
- Signing an employment contract or offer letter received as a PDF without printing it.
- Adding initials to a multi-page agreement on every page as required.

- Adding a signature stamp to a self-generated certificate or letter for visual authority.
- Signing a freelance project agreement or service contract sent as a PDF.
Tips for best results
- 1For cleaner drawn signatures on a desktop, use a mouse on a steady surface or a touchscreen stylus — slow, deliberate movements produce neater strokes.
- 2If uploading a scanned signature image, use a white background scan (or PNG with transparent background) for the cleanest overlay result.
- 3Adjust the signature placement precisely before finalising — use the on-page drag handles to position and scale.
- 4For multi-page agreements requiring initials on every page, create an initials stamp and add it to each page individually.
- 5Save a copy of your signature image for future use so you don't need to redraw it each time.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Konnect2Tools free?
- Yes. These in-browser tools are completely free to use with no account required for core functionality.
- Do my files leave my device?
- Browser document operations run locally, except where the operation uses an external service, such as AI summarisation. Read the processing note before using sensitive inputs.
- Is the Sign PDF tool safe to use?
- Local operations process document content on your device. External-service operations may send inputs as described in the processing note. Keep originals and inspect the output.
- Is a signature added by this tool legally binding?
- A visual/image signature overlay does not carry cryptographic proof of identity. Whether it satisfies legal requirements for a specific document depends on your jurisdiction and the contract terms. For regulated, legally binding e-signatures, use a platform with PKI-based certificates.
- Can I add multiple signatures at different locations in the same document?
- Yes — you can add the signature multiple times (e.g., for multi-party signing, or initials on every page) by placing it on each required page.
- Can I sign a PDF on my mobile phone?
- Yes — the tool works in modern mobile browsers. Drawing a signature is easiest with a stylus; finger-drawing works but may produce larger, less precise strokes.
- Can I change the signature after placing it?
- You can adjust the placement before downloading. Once you download the signed PDF, the signature is permanently embedded. To change it, re-upload the original unsigned PDF and sign again.
