The GST Invoice Generator creates GST-compliant tax invoices for registered businesses, complete with mandatory fields: supplier GSTIN, recipient GSTIN, HSN/SAC codes, taxable value, and separate CGST/SGST (for intra-state) or IGST (for inter-state) breakdowns. GST-registered businesses are legally required to issue such invoices for all B2B transactions.

Under GST rules, a tax invoice is the primary document for claiming Input Tax Credit (ITC). Buyers can claim ITC only if the supplier has issued a proper GST invoice with all required fields. Missing GSTIN, wrong HSN codes, or incorrect GST split can result in ITC denial and GST audit notices — making accurate invoice generation critical.

Our generator supports both intra-state transactions (where the seller and buyer are in the same state, requiring CGST+SGST) and inter-state transactions (where IGST is applied). Simply enter the supply type and the tax breakdown is automatically calculated. The invoice is print-ready and matches the format prescribed by GST portal guidelines.

Frequently asked questions

Is Konnect2Tools free?
Yes. These in-browser tools are completely free to use with no account required for core functionality.
Do my files leave my device?
Browser document operations run locally, except where the operation uses an external service, such as AI summarisation. Read the processing note before using sensitive inputs.
Is the GST Invoice Generator tool safe to use?
Local operations process document content on your device. External-service operations may send inputs as described in the processing note. Keep originals and inspect the output.
Is PAN or GSTIN required on GST invoices?
GSTIN of the supplier is mandatory. GSTIN of the recipient is mandatory for B2B invoices to enable ITC. For B2C (individual consumers), GSTIN is not required but the invoice must still show the applied GST amount. PAN is not mandatory on tax invoices but is required for certain declarations.
What is the difference between tax invoice and bill of supply?
A tax invoice is issued by GST-registered suppliers for taxable goods/services and is used by buyers to claim ITC. A bill of supply is issued for exempt goods/services or by composition scheme taxpayers who cannot charge GST. Both are valid GST documents but serve different purposes.
What happens if I issue an incorrect GST invoice?
Issue a credit note (for reducing the invoice amount) or debit note (for increasing it). Credit/debit notes must reference the original invoice number and date. The recipient must reflect the adjustment in their GST return. Issuing wrong invoices repeatedly can attract GST audit and penalty.
Can I issue an invoice in a foreign currency?
Yes, for exports and cross-border services. The invoice can be in any currency, but the GST amount and taxable value must also be stated in INR at the RBI reference rate on the transaction date. Export invoices are typically zero-rated (0% GST) with a declaration of export.
